New Water Meter Installation Program

NEW WATER METER INSTALLATION PROGRAM

 The Town of Plainville is currently upgrading all residential and commercial water meters to state-of-the-art smart meters. These new meters provide more accurate readings and allow residents and businesses to easily monitor their water usage online through WaterScope™, our customer portal.

Scheduling Installations

Our installation partner, Mass Installation, is completing the work in phases across different sections of Town.

  • Postcards will be mailed to residents and businesses when your area is scheduled for installation. Each postcard will include detailed instructions on how to schedule your appointment.
  • Please wait to call until you receive your postcard, as scheduling is being managed by neighborhood to ensure efficiency.

During your appointment, a certified technician will install the new meter and collect your phone number and email address to register you for WaterScope™.

About WaterScope™

WaterScope™ provides residents with:

  • Real-time water usage data
  • Automatic leak alerts
  • Billing history and account information

 All features are provided at no cost.

You can also sign up for WaterScope™ anytime after your meter has been installed by visiting waterscope.us.

To register, you will need your VN ID (found on the face of your new meter) and your account number.

Please note: Your account may not be immediately available until the Town integrates your new meter into its billing system—a process that may take a few days after installation.

Billing Adjustments

If you have been receiving estimated water bills, your next bill will include an adjustment. This adjustment will reflect the difference between past estimated readings and the actual reading from your new meter.

Billing Concerns:

If you believe your water bill may be incorrect and would like the Department of Public Works to review it, you can submit a request online at plainville.ma.us/1663/Water-and-Sewer-Billing-Questions. Our staff will review your account and respond promptly to confirm the accuracy of your bill or provide additional information.
