The Plainville Department of Public Works would like to remind residents, motorists and pedestrians that the temporary closure of the Mirimichi Bridge will begin on Monday, September 23, 2019. The existing Mirimichi Bridge is structurally deficient. The replacement of the Mirimichi Bridge will include the removal of the existing bridge; construction of a new concrete bridge, with guardrails and appropriate signage. It is anticipated that the Mirimichi Bridge will be temporarily closed for replacement through the Spring of 2020.

Variable message signs have been deployed in the area to alert commuters of the closure. Construction activities will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) with detours in effect.
