Please Return Your Annual Street List/Town Census

The Annual Street List/Census was mailed out the first week in January to all Plainville households and is now due back. Please sign and respond to this mailing as soon as possible, even if there are no changes.  Failure to respond to this mailing shall result in removal from the active voting list.
You may return your Annual Street List/Census by mail or in person. For assistance, or if you need a second copy, please call the Town Clerk's office at (508) 695-3010 ext.1

The amount of State and Federal Aid our town receives is based on population, so it is important to have an accurate count of our residents. The local census is also used to:

  • maintain voting lists
  • aid in school enrollment projections
  • help determine public safety and senior citizens’ needs
  • provide certain privileges such as veterans benefits
  • serve as proof of residency for state colleges and universities
  • and much more.

Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 51 requires that cities and towns conduct an Annual Street List/Census of its residents each year.
