Plainville Fire Department helps seniors prepare for winter with a new sand bucket delivery program

THE PLAINVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE A NEW SERVICE BEING OFFERED TO THE SENIORS OF OUR COMMUNITY. OUR SENIOR SAFE PROGRAM WILL BE WORKING WITH THE PLAINVILLE COUNCIL ON AGING AND THE PLAINVILLE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO DISTRIBUTE BUCKETS OF SAND/SALT MIX TO PLAINVILLE SENIORS TO HELP PREPARE FOR THIS COMING WINTER. THE PLAINVILLE LOWE’S HAS GENEROUSLY DONATED 5 GALLON BUCKETS FOR US TO FILL AND DELIVER TO YOUR HOME FOR YOU TO SPREAD ON ANY ICY SPOTS TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF SLIP AND FALL INJURIES.

THIS IS A FREE SERVICE OFFERED TO PLAINVILLE RESIDENTS WHO ARE UNABLE TO GET SAND FOR THEMSELVES. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A PLAINVILLE FIREFIGHTER DELIVER A 5 GALLON BUCKET OF SAND/SALT MIX TO YOUR HOME, YOU CAN SIGN UP AT THE PLAINVILLE SENIOR CENTER LOCATED AT 9 SCHOOL ST. OR CALL THE PLAINVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT AT 508-695-5252 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. THIS PROGRAM WILL BEGIN DEC.1 2023 AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WINTER MONTHS.
