Community Members Invited to Attend Regional Veterans Day Ceremony
Town Manager Michael Borg, Town Administrator Brian Noble and District Director of Veteran Services Scott Smith would like to invite community members to attend North Attleborough and Plainville’s upcoming regional Veterans Day Ceremony.
WHEN:
Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
WHERE:
Veterans Memorial Park, 43 S Washington St.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be inside the Community School Auditorium, 45 South Washington St.
WHAT:
Community members are invited to honor veterans during the upcoming regional ceremony alongside town and state officials. The ceremony will begin with an opening prayer from Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chaplin Manny Desourdy, followed by the U.S. Marine Corps Presentation of Colors.
The North Attleborough High School Band will also perform the National Anthem and Service Song Medley, and local Girl and Boy Scout troops will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Guest speakers include Rep. Adam Scanlon, Plainville Select Board Chair Brian Kelly, North Attleborough Town Councilor Andrea Slobogan and keynote speaker Dr. Cheryl Butts. Pastor Emeritus Harold F. Crowell of the Plainville Baptist Church will lead the benediction.
The ceremony will conclude with the Retiring of Colors led by the U.S. Marine Corps and closing remarks by Director Smith.
