Plainville Ground Water Adjustment

(For use only in Southwest Middlesex County and Western Norfolk County when redoxymorphic features are inconclusive)

Prepared By William R. Domey, P.E., Sherborn, MA 01770

*Based upon the current rainfall characteristics and lack thereof, these most recent values should be considered of questionably reliability and are only included as a guide. It is recommended that, where possible, high groundwater determination should be postponed until the water table elevations are significantly higher and the data is more consistent, reliable, and conservative in nature.

Where no groundwater is encountered and where there are no mottles, the adjustment value should be applied from the elevation of the bottom of the hole. Using an excavator as large as possible should be used. The depth of the test hole should not be limited to 10 feet.

**Because of lack of rainfall

and drought or near drought

conditions in the preceding

months in June/July 2007,

those values have to be

considered unreliable and are

not provided. It has been

recommended that, where

possible, high groundwater

determinations where mottles

are lacking should be

postponed until the water table

elevations are significantly

higher and data is more

consistent and reliable. 6/24/08

Based upon existing conditions,

it appears that the ground

water levels are now generally

 back to normal.
